Vengeful Warrior - W/Rt general purpose farming build.
.... actually more like Warrior standing around getting hit, LOL!
This is the no skill W/Rt farming guide.
Btw. When I say farming I mean it in a broad sense, more that this build has a decent survivability and you can solo mobs with it - it might be less effective than other builds for specific jobs.
Inspired by all the Rt/Me threads I decided to try to make a "Vengeful Warrior", and it works very well.
First off this is a general build not made for any special area, it will work against all mobs that attack and don't heal/lifesteal.
It doesn't work against most casters unless they attack more than they cast spells. It can't kill bosses, but just ignore those.
Skills
Vengeful Was Kahnhei {E} -> http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Vengeful_Was_Khanhei
Dolyak Signet
Endure Pain
Vengeful Weapon (strongly suggested)
"I Will Survive" (semi-open)
Resilent Was Xiko (semi-open)
Weapon Of Warding (open)
Sprint (open)
Stats:
Strength: 16 (12+3+1)
Restoration: 12
Suggested Gear:
Knights Armor is what I used, I think pretty much anything will do.
Wand, 20% Half Skill Recharge for Restoration Magic.
Exalted Aegis, strength based.
(note: I don't actually have any of the last two items, I use a HSR staff for now - but the above will be better defensively)
How to use it:
Very simple...
Start off running towards the mobs, when you're in range cast "Endure Pain" and "Weapon of Warding", and round up the mobs.
Hit "Dolyaks Signet", "Vengeful Was Kahnhei" and "Endure Pain" - re-apply the skills when they expire.
Cast "Vengeful Weapon" whenever you feel have enough energy - it's a bit of extra damage .
If you think you are getting too low on health cast "Weapon Of Warding".
If the mobs are putting conditions on you use "I will Survive", I can't understand why this skill is hardly ever used by anyone IT'S AWESOME, trust me when you are bleeding, poisoned, crippled and suffering from weakness at the same time you'll see how effective it is
You don't need to do attack or select a target, just stand there (I tend to inditify items in my inventory while waiting)
REMEMBER to keep up "Dolyak Signet" at all times, many of the mobs this works on use knock-down, if you fail it can be fatal.
"Resilent Was Xiko" use this to get rid of any condition after a fight, don't you just hate to have won a fight only to see you're dying because you have 10 pips of degen on you, well this takes care of that.
Where I have tested it:
Prophecies:
Grawls in Witman's Folly, necros there don't seem to use skills, they mostly wand
Giants in Talus Chute, keep at range their damage is pathetic
Trolls in Talus Chute, takes about one minute to kill those (well it took 3 x Dolyak for me anyway)
Avicara in Talus Chute (only the groups without Monks/Necros)
Minotaurs
Factions:
Wardens, "Low-end" groups not the groups with mesmers.
Vermin, as an exception you can kill the boss - this way is slower than a W/Mo axe build btw.
Dragon Moss, one of the few eles it can take, they tend to attack you more than they cast but you can be unlucky and get spiked by a big group.
Stonescale Kirin
Undergrowth
Outcasts
Conclusion:
PRO:
Pretty noob safe, a lot of the time you only have to use three skills.
"Vengeful Was Kahnhei" is the best elite in the game for farming
CONS:
Long recharge time of "Vengeful Was Kahnhei" - 80% of the time you have to wait 10 secs for it to recharge.
Against some of the listed mobs it can be done faster with other builds.

Input appreciated
If you find a place this build works well, please post it in this thread.
Also improvements to the build are welcome, although I don't really see what that could be.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I first made this build I used it on Wardens in Arborstone and used this build:
Vengeful Was Kahnhei {E}
Vengeful Weapon
Dolyak Signet
Endure Pain
"I Will Survive"
Resilent Was Xiko
Bonettis Defense
Ancenstors' Rage
Strength: 15 (11+3+1)
Restoration: 12
Channeling: 6
It does slightly more damage but not too much since "Ancenstors' Rage" has a long recharge time.
For "Bonettis Defense" to work you need to attack the mobs while "Vengeful" is recharging.

I'm bummed that my ritualist isn't far enough in the game to cap "Vengeful Was Kahnhei" yet

Ha! Nice.
Do you find that you need Endure to make it from one venge to the next? Would a quick application of Generous do about the same job?
If seems like venge would get interrupted by the Talus trolls quite a bit. Did you find that to be the case?

Overall I think "Endure Pain" has some nice advantages - it can be cast while moving, has no casting times, can be cast while using spells and it raises my health by over 300 hp for quite a while.
But Generous could be included instead of one of the other optional skills.

Cool, thanks. I'm thinking about taking a survivor up snake dance for a little change of pace. Sounds like taking on the trolls along the way could still be a little chancy? Hmm.. weapon of warding + a stance would give you fair odds. Or a stance and a riposte to cover a burn-through.
Edit: Does blocking work like that? I never thought about it before.
75% from stance + 50% from weapon spell = (?) 12.5% of getting hit

I don't know if they stack really, I never gave it any though.
You can take on the trolls, they aren't a big problem if you play it safe - that means make sure you have enough energy to cast weapon of warding/Endure pain whenever you can - I've done them several times with no problem, they do interrupt from time to time, but I've managed anyway.
And Avicara can only be done with caution, but I managed to take three of fighters, one archer one mesmer one troll and 3 giants at once - but stay clear of the Shadow thingies (forget the name at the moment) the bosses will own you same goes for those monk griffons.
PLEASE Don't blow your surviver title by chancing with this, I don't wanna feel bad.
Btw. I was running with my char to elona last night and I ran into a Sand Drake Boss and couple of friends , so I thought I would fight him, no problem... then the Hydra Boss came and wanted to join the fight... and much to my surprise I lived thru it (granted they were both Warrior bosses with no elites).
Had to resize since I'm running at 1920x1200 resolution.

Heheh no worries about a survivor! Lag is my worst enemy; I'd prefer loosing in a fair fight.
